Wondering if anything has changed since your last visit here? Check the updates list below.

To find a person you are interested in:

  • Look for his or her name in the name index or browse the surname list. (The surname list links back to specific families in the name index.)

  • Click on the name that interests you. Additional links to parents, children and source information will display if available. In some cases, other information such as vital statistics will also display for persons no longer living.

Notes

  • Women in the name index are generally listed by their maiden names.

  • If you don't know the maiden name, you could try checking the marriage list (.rtf document, viewable in most word-processing programs, 232kb, or WinZip archive, 62kb; last updated 29 Sept. 2008.

  • An electronic (text-only) version of The Ehresmann Chronicles, a family history published some years ago, is available at the Odessa Digital Library.

  • Also available: Deceased Family Members list (Excel workbook, 480kb, or WinZip archive, 135kb; last updated 3 Nov. 2004).
Don't have Excel? Download a free viewer from Microsoft® or check out the OpenOffice.org suite (the download for this "open source" application is free but you will want a high-speed connection — it's a 119MB).

  • Some of the information here came from GEDCOM files provided by Del Paulson (Rieger line) and Anita Batz (Rau line). Other sources are cited in the material.

To use the GEDCOM file:

  1. Download the GEDCOM file to your computer.

  2. Decompress the GEDCOM file using WinZip (or similar compression application).

  3. Import the decompressed GEDCOM file into a genealogy database program such as Personal Ancestral File.

  • GEDCOM is a computer format designed to make sharing information between different genealogy database programs easier.

  • The GEDCOM file available here (compressed with WinZip, 860kb) includes all of the genealogical information on these web pages.
